Artist Statement
"My work is an attempt to capture the fleeting moments where light dissolves form. I am interested in what remains when we stop looking at the object and start seeing the energy it leaves behind."
— Elena Vance

The Process
Inside the Studio
Every piece begins with a moment of observation—the way light hits a surface or the memory of a specific landscape. My process is physical and intuitive, involving layers of oil paint, cold wax, and raw pigment.
I work on multiple canvases simultaneously, allowing each to inform the other. It is a constant dialogue between addition and subtraction, building up texture only to scrape it away, revealing the history of the work beneath.
Mediums
Oil, Cold Wax, Pigment, Charcoal
Philosophy
Abstraction as a bridge to memory and light.
